Toronto Aids Conference 2006

Learning about how aids can be prevented to over 90% of those who are infected are astonishing, yet these people are not able to recieve the treatment they need to live. With children being born with aids and grandmothers facing a hardship of raising their own grand children is very disheartning to hear. With promoting awareness and giving the publicity this epedemic requires is essential and it has been successful. The more people learn and understand about aids, more action will be directed at fighting this disease. The world should not be divided on this issue because we are all affected by aids.

The War on Terror

How much security can we provide to our airports, highways, powerplants or our homes? From the local news they depict how the police have infiltrated and stopped a potential attack in the U.K. Blowing up a plane symbolizes terror yet we still do nothing about it. The media promotes all this fear to its viewers about the hatred of Islam on the United States and these terrorists must be stopped.

However the only terrorists I can think of live in the country we call home. First of all people must think to themselves why are we being attacked in the first place? Perhaps how we as in Westerners purge every natural resource we can find and how we force the desimination of our beliefs onto those less fortunate.

Are you going to tell me that if a stranger barges into your house, takes away your wife and kids, tells you to stop believing in your religion and tells you that democracy is the only road for you to take, are you going to tell me that you will not fight back and claim back what is yours? Who are the real terrorists in this world?

The New Face of the Vancouver Canucks

So how does everyone like their canucks this year? I am sure a lot of people praise the trade that sent Bertuzzi, Auld, and Allen to Florida for Luongo. But my two cents are that I cant believe they traded Auldy! I personally believe Auld is a proven goaltender already and since following his progress since we aquired him back in 1999, I don't like the trade! Power forward and proven goaltender gone to replace a position the canucks already have filled! I guess it will take time to like this new team of ours. However the players we have now aquired like Bulis, Chinouard and Tremblay add great depth to our team. This is my two cents for this week. Auld < Luongo!
